This is a serious bug for the upgrade, for most users it would mean a need to restart from a CD and wipe out the current, borked installation. Tue May 18 So i could access my desktop again. You can still use the card, of course, but you will have to do so with the default open source Radeon driver, which was installed when you installed Ubuntu — and is used again when you remove the ATI driver. I removed the fglrx driver. I wrote a script that does this:

I think users should know! You start the downloaded file and pick this option from the GUI. I installed mesa-dri-drivers-experimental using yum I did install mesa-dri-drivers-experimental but it still says 3d effects not supported.

Ok, I hope this helps clear things up. The radeonHD works at least, but I have no 3D acceleration. As I have already stated The time now is As I sad above, too, I’m really not sure about the brightness actually, I said backlight.
I’m upgrading my testing jaunty copy from alpha 5, I think. This could be my fault, maybe I configured this in the past and couldn’t remember it, not sure. Or it could be that the fix is available in the installer but it doesn’t correct the corrupted situation that we have.
